RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) -- Senator Mark Warner joined hundreds to take part in a community bike ride Saturday.
Warner said he was both excited to get away from Washington and to be a role model to inspire others to get off the couch and get fit.
The YMCA of Greater Richmond hosted the event as the kick-off for the Fall into Fitness campaign. Participants took a bike ride along the James, through Belle Isle.
The goal of the campaign is to engage more than 10,000 people in physical activity three days a week over a month-long period.
The YMCA of Greater Richmond plans to open their doors for free while the campaign takes place over the next four weeks in order to help more people get healthy and reach fitness goals.
