When officers arrived they found two adult men dead in the yard of a home.  The victims have been identified as 31-year-old James Nash and 40-year-old George Redmon Jr.

CBS 6 spoke with the father of George Redmon Jr. Saturday morning.

"I lost my right hand," said George Redmon Sr.

George Sr. told CBS 6's Chelsea Rarrick his son never had any problems with anyone. He said he doesn't know who would want to hurt his son but did see someone at the end of his walkway Saturday night.

"Somebody came into the yard...I saw standing up by the truck. It wasn't a mystery. It wasn't a myth. He was standing there," he said.

George Sr. said this is the second son he has lost. He said his other son, Chad died 11 years ago after being shot.

"It's senseless," he said.

CBS 6 spoke with the aunt of James Nash. She did not want to talk on camera, but said her nephew grew up with Redmon Jr.

Police are following up on several leads provided by witnesses in the area.

Anyone with information about the double murder is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 804-780-1000.
