CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) - All southbound lanes of Route 288 in Chesterfield County have reopened following a deadly crash near the Chester Rd. exit.
A logging truck and two smaller vehicles collided shortly after midnight, according to state police. The force of the crash caused the logging truck to flip.
The driver of one of the two cars was killed. Wednesday afternoon, the driver was identified as Morris E. Cushionberry, 27, of the 4000 block of Treely Road, Chester. No one else was hurt.
The driver of the tractor-trailer, Jyvel R. Coleman, 23, of South Hill, Va. was charged with reckless driving.
Traffic was detoured off Route 288 south for several hours. The crash team investigation is on-going.
