RICHMOND, Va (WTVR) - Quilting is a tradition that dates as far back as ancient Egypt with practical uses as well as decorative uses. The Virginia Historical Society’s current exhibit 'The Great Western Virginia Cover-Up: Historic Quilts and Bedcovers Exhibit’features quilts and bedcovers made here in Virginia. Dr. William Rasmussen, the museum's lead Curator and Art Historian, shared more details. The exhibit is currently on display for free at the Virginia Historical Society until Sunday, January 5th, 2014. The society is also hosting a free quilt documentation and discovery day Saturday, September 28th from 10am to 4pm.
