WASHINGTON, D.C. (WTVR) – The FBI and the D.C. Police Department held a press conference around 2 p.m. Tuesday to give an update on what they found out about Monday’s Navy Yard shooting.

According to the FBI assistant director, Aaron Alexis acted alone.  They also believe that Alexis had a shotgun with an AR 15 on him, but he obtained the handgun once he entered the complex.

Also in the press conference, D.C. Police say they reported to the scene just two minutes after the call came. Authorities also say several shots were fired within seven minutes.

The FBI field offices in Richmond will help the D.C. offices in the investigation.

CBS 6’s Joe St. George will be live from D.C. throughout our newscasts with more information.
