CRATER OF DIAMONDS STATE PARK, Ark. (WTVR) — A 12-year-old North Carolina boy made an awesome discovery while traveling with his family in Arkansas.
The boy found a 5.16 carat honey-brown diamond in Arkansas’ Crater of the Diamond State Park.
Park officials said the rock is the 27th largest diamond found by a park visitor since the site opened in 1972.
Park officials also said the stone is the 328th diamond found by a visitor this year.
The boy has reportedly named the large gem “God’s Glory Diamond.”
