Japan remembers the 68th anniversary of the US bombing of Nagasaki.

NAGASAKI, Japan (WTVR) -- A memorial ceremony in Nagasaki, Japan, marked the 68th anniversary  since the U.S. bombing of the city.

About 6300 people attended the memorial Friday morning at Peace Park near where the atomic bomb hit.

A moment of silence was observed at 11:02 a.m. -- the exact time the bomb was dropped.

The 1945 attack came three days after the atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima, which killed about 80,000 people.
