ATLANTA, Ga. (WSB) – While two dozen people lined up outside a clothing store to wait for the release of Lebron James' new shoes, one man saw an opportunity to try to steal a quick buck.
Witnesses say a fatal shooting happened after the man approached the line, attempting to rob several people.
"He wanted to pickpocket everybody, but you know, people out here weren't going for any of that," Taylor White, one of the witnesses said.
Atlanta police said that one of the victims in line was armed and decided to fight back. The armed victim shot the suspect. The suspect attempted to run, but collapsed after a few yards and died.
"He really stood up for all of us," White said. "I salute him."
