HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) – Henrico County is throwing a party now that a West End fire station has undergone a $3.2 million expansion and renovation.
Fire station 13 is located on Church Rd. near Lauderdale Dr.
The 27-year-old fire station added a third vehicle bay and expanded from 5,445 square feet to 8,753 square feet. Thirteen firefighters can sleep at the expanded station. Voters approved money for the expansion in a 2005 bond vote.
The department will offer tours of the renovated station on Saturday, June 8 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Food will be served during that time and there will be a fire truck inflatable bouncer for children.
