RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) - The keynote speaker at an annual economic summit said Richmond's economy looks healthy and will continue to grow.
Hugh Newton, Regional Manager for M&T Bank, said the economy in Central Virginia has grown over the past three years. He said there are more jobs available in home building and health care, both major market drivers.
"The rate of job growth in Central Virginia is now outpacing the rest of the state two to one, a tremendously positive sign," he said.
Wednesday was the third annual economic summit the bank has held for the Richmond area.
