MIAMI (WTVR) – Miami Dolphins leaders announced Sunday they planned to cancel the team’s stadium renovation. Miami Dolphins CEO Mike Dee said the team’s owner would not spend any more money to improve the team’s stadium. Appearing on CBS Miami on Sunday, Dee said while the team has no intention of leaving Miami now, a new owner will have a tough decision to make.

“At some point somebody is going to buy the franchise from [Dolphins’ owner] Steve [Ross] clearly the stadium issue is going to be the first thing that they would need to address,” Dee said.

On Friday, Florida lawmakers failed to vote on a bill that would have allowed Miami to raise its hotel tax to help pay for the $350 million stadium renovation.
