NEWPORT, Maine (WTVR) - The Make a Wish Foundation made a Florida child's wish come true when it flew her and her family from Florida to Maine. Six-year-old Sophia Galavan wanted to see snow and build a snowman.
"She was like waving at the snow and stuff like that and she wanted, when we went to the hotel, she wanted to go out, and we weren't ready. We said, 'No, no, let's hold on, let's hold on," her father Victor Galvan said.
In addition to the snowman, Burgess Farm in Maine built Sophia several snow sculptures and planned time for a sleigh ride, sledding and hot chocolate.
Sophia has a form of cancer called Rhabdomyosarcoma and is in remission now.
"It can come back, but we gotta be ready and we pray every day that God never will take her away," her father said.
