SEATTLE (KCPQ) -- About 6,000 people participated in this year’s historic Seattle Snow Day on Saturday.

The event, which was held at the Seattle Center outside the EMP Museum, earned a spot in the Guinness Book of World Records for the largest snowball fight.

Organizers trucked in 162,000 pounds of snow from the mountains and sold more than 6,000 tickets for the event to dethrone the Republic of Korea, which set the record of 5,327 snow-throwers in 2010.
