RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) – The Centers for Disease control now says that only two people have died from fungal meningitis in Virginia.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention updated this information Wednesday evening.

Virginia has 45 confirmed cases of meningitis.

There have been 28 deaths across the country since the nationwide outbreak began.

The illness has been linked to tainted steroid injections supplied by a Massachusetts company, which is now under investigation.
