CALIFORNIA–In his 27th parole hearing, Ex-Charles Manson follower Bruce Davis was granted parole.
Davis has spent the past 40 years in prison for his role in the 1969 deaths of musician Gary Hinman, who was stabbed, and stuntman Donald Shea.
This is the 27th time he has faced a parole hearing since he entered jail as a 30-year old man.
“I have a lot to make up,Davis said. “I owe a lot.”
“I took a lot,’ he added.
Officials said that Davis has been a role model prisoner. In 2010 he was granted a parole previously, but Gov. Schwarzenegger overturned that recommendation and said the decision was based on a “personality disorder.”
This current recommendation will be subject to a 120-day review period by the entire parole board. If it is upheld, Gov. Jerry Brown then has 30 days to review the decision.
