BUTTE, Mont. (WTVR) - There are more wildfires burning in the western United States.
The worst of which is a 19 mile wide wildfire in Montana, forcing the evacuation of about 150 people. The main problem with the fire is locating the remote homes in the area and getting people to safety.
The Missoulian reports that the wildfire started on August 28 and has destroyed 14 homes, a trailer and numerous vehicles.
FEMA has also stepped in offering federal money for the firefighting and rescue operation.
As of August 31, the National Interagency Fire Center reports that there have been over 44,000 fires burning roughly 7.6 million acres of land.
