SEATTLE, Wa. (WTVR) – A school bus driver, convicted of groping three teenagers and two women, has given the court an unusual excuse for his crimes – caffeine.
Kenneth Sands, 51, says drinking “an excessive intake of caffeine” contributed to his behavior and caused him to have a “psychotic episode”.
Sands was convicted of molesting the five females at a volleyball game in October of 2011. The first groping incident occurred during the game where Sands grabbed a woman’s breast several times. Then, after the game, he boarded a team bus and grabbed two players and a student.
Sands has been sentenced to 30 days in jail for each of the five counts of fourth-degree assault.
