Update on dead body found at New Kent rest area

NEW KENT, Va. (WTVR)—Virginia State Police said that foul play is not suspected in the death of a male who was found dead in his car at a local rest area.

On Saturday, June 23, around 6 p.m., a rest area attendant contacted the VSP to report a suspicious vehicle. Once police arrived at the rest area at mile marker 214 in New Kent County, a male body was found dead in the driver’s seat of a 2008 Toyota Scion

The vehicle was parked in the front parking lot towards the west end of the parking spaces, said police.
 
The body was transported to the Chief Medical Examiners Office in Richmond. The cause and nature of death has not been determined yet.
 
Police said the deceased male was 22 years-old, and from Potomac Falls, Va.

The Virginia State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation assisted with the on-going investigation.  Foul play is not suspected.
