Cops: Walmart employee slams coworker into case

SANDY SPRINGS, GA (WSB) - Police said a Georgia woman is in trouble with the law after she got into an altercation with a coworker at Walmart.

Of course, the entire ordeal was captured on the store’s surveillance system.

Milton police said 63-year-old Dorothy Kemp charged at her co-worker, 56-year-old Marissa Moody, last Saturday and slammed her into a fruit case at the Windward Parkway Walmart.

Police said it happened after Moody took back a cutting board she had been using to cut up some fruit samples.

As Moody struggled to free herself from the case, the video showed Kemp calmly walk back to her workstation to cut up more fruit.

Police charged Kemp, the alleged aggressor, was charged with simple battery.

The victim said she was injured in the attack and is now undergoing physical therapy.

WSB-TV’s Mike Petchenik tracked down Kemp Friday at her Sandy Springs townhome, but she refused to come downstairs.

The reporter also showed the video to Walmart customers, who had plenty to say about the incident.

“Just to fight over a cutting board is pretty ridiculous,” said one shopper. “[It] sounds like a movie.”

Shopper Heidi Kwait, who has worked in retail and can empathize with both women in this video, agreed that it sounded crazy.

“The places you work, little things may just set you off,” said Kwait. “You think it's small, but it's really big to them…. Don't steal my cutting board.”
