‘Click It or Ticket’ blitz yields over 200 tickets in Henrico

HENRICO, Va. (WTVR)- Henrico Police have released the numbers from Friday night’s “Click It or Ticket” enforcement efforts.

Lt. A.J. Gordon with HPD says 11 officers patrolled Rt. 60 between the New Kent County and Richmond City lines Friday evening from 3 to 8 p.m. to “promote public awareness to the “Click It or Ticket” message through high visibility enforcement.”

The efforts by officers led to the following charges, totaling 154 citations in all.

  • 22 – Speeding
  • 2 – Reckless Driving
  • 37 – Seat Belt violations
  • 18 – Child Restraint violations
  • 7 – Suspended License
  • 4 – No Valid License
  • 5 – No OL in Possession
  • 22 – Inspection violations
  • 6 – Registration violations
  • 18 – Equipment violations
  • 7 – Other traffic violations
  • 1 – Unauthorized State inspection
  • 1 – Loud Stereo
  • 1 – Littering from a motor vehicle
  • 1 – Consuming alcohol while driving
  • 2 – Possession of Marijuana

HPD also conducted a DUI check point on Brook Rd. at the Hanover County line. Gordon says over 375 vehicles came through the checkpoint, that was held as part of the national Checkpoint Strikeforce Campaign, leading to 74 arrests.

Gordon praises the efforts of officers in helping to enforce and spread awareness of the “Click It or Ticket”campaign.
