RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) – Sunday afternoon Delta Air Lines began offering a brand new flight service between Richmond International Airport and New York City’s LaGuardia Airport. The carrier now offers five daily non-stop flights between Richmond and New York.
It’s part of a larger overall expansion of Delta flights in and out of LaGuardia Airport. Delta and U.S. Airways swapped landing and take off privileges at LaGuardia and Washington’s Regan International Airport. U.S. airways will stop offering service to New York in July.
Fox Business reports some experts fear a lack of competition could cause ticket price to jump down the line.
Delta estimates that by this summer the company will operate more than 260 daily flights between LaGuardia and more than 60 cities, more than any other airline.
