RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) - Chef Ben Pruitt from Legend Brewery shares a healthy twist on your typical beef burger--check out the recipe for their Black Bean Burger paired with one of their favorite Pilsners.
Ingredients:
- 2 Cups of Black Beans
- 1 Tbsp Olive Oil Blend
- ½ Cup Green Pepper (chopped fine)
- ½ Cup Red onion (chopped fine)
- 1 Stalk Celery (chopped fine)
- 3 Cloves Garlic (minced)
- 2 tsp Cumin
- 2 tsp Paprika
- ¼ tsp Cayenne Pepper
- ½ tsp Salt
- ½ tsp Pepper
- ¼ Cup Corn
- ¼ Cup Hummus
- 1 Tbsp Soy Sauce
- ½ Cup of Quick Oats
- 2 Slices of White Bread crumbled into tiny pieces
Preparation: Heat oil in a pan on med low, saute garlic and onion until soft. Add celery and pepper, saute until softened. Mix in the herbs and spices and heat through.
Hand mix all ingredients until consistency is reached Portion at 5 oz and freeze on sheet pan
