RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) - Some VCU Rams fans braved Monday morning's snow to secure good seats to tonight's Colonial Athletic Association title game.
Dan Dunivan, a history major at Virginia Commonwealth University, tweeted he and his friends started to wait outside the Richmond Coliseum at 5:45 a.m. Monday.
VCU student Danyele Greenfield has been camped out in front of the Coliseum ticket window too and said she wouldn't miss tonight's game for anything.
"There are only 200 tickets that actually students get to sit or stand on the floor by the basket. The rest of them are like a mile in the air. So we wanted to get here so we could be on the floor and be on ESPN", said Greenfield.
Tonight at 7:00 p.m. the Rams take on the top-seeded Drexel University Dragons.
The winner of tonight's CAA title game will receive an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament. VCU has won 16 of their last 17 games. Drexel is on a 19 game winning streak. That's impressive enough, but even more so when you take into account that VCU and Drexel rank as the 9th and 10th youngest teams in the country.
Last year VCU received an at-large invitation to the tournament and made college basketball history by advancing to the Final Four.
