RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) - The case of a Richmond man charged with child neglect, after his three-year-old son was shot, is moving forward.
A grand jury will hear the felony charge against Antwoine Mealey.
Police say a gun went off in January, hitting the little boy in the stomach at Mealey's home in the 1500 block of North 20th street.
Mealey and others took the child to the hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery.
Court documents reveal police searched the home for firearms, DNA, and cell phones among other items.
Officers found blood and bullet fragments on the floor of the house, along with a gun.
