CHEF DAQUAN’S FATSO SANDWICH RECIPE
French Toast Batter Ingredients– yields 12 slices
1 quart of heavy cream
4 large eggs
1/2 cup of cinnamon
1/2 cup of sugar
1/4 cup of nutmeg
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
Hearty White Bread or Texas Toast Loaf
Directions (French toast batter):
Mix all of ingredients listed above- heavy cream, eggs, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla, and sugar in a large bowl. Whisk thoroughly.
FATSO Ingredients- yields 1 sandwich
2 pieces of French Toast slices
1/4 lb. honey maple ham
3 slices applewood bacon
1 hash brown patty
2 eggs
2 slices of American cheese or Pepper Jack cheese
Powdered sugar
Maple syrup
Directions
Preheat griddle to 450 degrees. Spread butter on griddle. Coat 2 slices of Hearty white bread in the French toast batter and place on griddle. Cook until golden brown with crispy edges. Place the hash brown patty on griddle. Cook until crispy on both sides. Place bacon on griddle and cook both sides thoroughly. Once bacon is complete, warm ham on griddle for 1 minute.
Using a sauté pan, fry 2 eggs over medium on high heat. Once eggs are cooked top with 2 slices of desired cheese.
Once all components of the sandwich are prepared, It is time to build the sandwich.
Begin with 1 slice of French toast, add the hash brown on top, then place bacon on hash brown. Now add the eggs/cheese, top with the ham and close the sandwich with 2nd slice of French toast.
Finish with powdered sugar, maple syrup and fresh fruit as desired
