Making a Difference in RVA: Metro Richmond Flying Squad

Posted

RICHMOND, Va. -- Here in central Virginia, we are blessed by amazing organizations that make a difference every day – from veterans and first responders, agencies that support mental health, groups that feed our neighbors in need and organizations that help local children.

We’re proud to introduce a new segment called “Making a Difference in RVA,” sponsored by MR. FIX-IT, Virginia’s trusted home remodeling partner for over 50 years. Owner Mark Binshtok joined Bill Bevins to highlight this month's feature: The Metro Richmond Flying Squad.

The Metro Richmond Flying Squad is an all-volunteer group providing support to our area first responders. Its members consist of current and former firefighters, police officers, business owners and citizens of the Metro Richmond area. Watch the video above to learn more about the group in their own words.

To help thank them for their contributions to our community, MR. FIX-IT presented a $600 check to The Metro Richmond Flying Squad. Click here to visit their website if you’d like to support their important work. You’ll also find the squad on Facebook and Instagram.

Know a group that deserves recognition? Help MR. FIX-IT and CBS 6 by nominating a group that you feel is making a difference. Tell us who they are, what they do and why you think we should add them to our list of difference makers.
