COLONIAL HEIGHTS, Va. -- A Colonial Heights gun shop has addressed criticism it has received for a sign that upset some customers and other people in the community.
The sign posted at the Smoking Gun read, "If you are anti-police, anti-military, associated with Cop Block, or Black Lives Matter, stay off of my range. You are not welcome here period."
In a Facebook post, the business confirmed the sign had been hanging there since 2016.
In that same post, the business also said, "After some reflection and a great conversation we had with someone who disagreed with the sign who called us earlier, we are updating the sign to simply ban people who are members of hate groups."
