These Virginians and former Olympians will appear on The Amazing Race

RICHMOND, Va. -- The Amazing Race returns to CBS 6 Wednesday and will feature two contestants from Virginia.

Kellie Wells-Brinkley and LaVonne Idlette are former Olympic hurdlers who will compete on the 32nd season of the Amazing Race which will feature athletes.

Wells-Brinkley from Richmond and Idlette from Hampton both attended Hampton University.

Wells-Brinkley won an Olympic Bronze medal in the 100m hurdles in the 2012 London games while Idlette participated in the 2012 Olympics for the Dominican Republic.

The duo will compete against 10 other teams in an around the world race that starts at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles and ends in Trinidad and Tobago.

The first team to cross the finish line will win $1 million.

The new of The Amazing Race, which was filmed before the coronavirus pandemic, premieres Wednesday, October 14 at 9 p.m. on CBS 6.
