Senior Alert canceled after missing man found safe

UPDATE: A Senior Alert has been canceled after Richard Bankston was safely located, according to police.

CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Va. -- A Senior Alert has been issued for a Charlotte County man who was last seen just after noon Monday.

Richard Bankston, 74, was last seen on Richardson Road in Keysville at approximately 12:30 p.m.

Deputies say Bankston senior suffers from a cognitive impairment and the disappearance poses a credible threat to his health and safety.

Bankston is described as a white male, 6'1" tall, 200 pounds, with blue eyes, and bald/gray hair. He was possibly wearing a long sleeve dark color shirt, full length dark color nylon sweatpants, white tennis shoes, dark color jacket and a stocking cap.

Investigators say he is possibly driving a 2007 gold Toyota Camry displaying Virginia plates: AED-6053.

Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is asked to contact the Charlotte County Sheriff's Office 434-542-5141.
