Powhatan County confirms first COVID-19 case

POWHATAN, Va – The first case of COVID-19 in Powhatan County has been confirmed.

This afternoon, Powhatan County received notification from the Virginia Department of Health (VDH) regarding the first confirmed case of COVID-19.

The patient was not hospitalized and is currently self-isolating at home.

County Emergency Management Officials urge citizens to continue to practice social distancing and frequent hand washing.

There are currently 391 cases of COVID-19 in Virginia and 9 deaths.
