CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. -- Organizations held a school supplies donation drive at the YMCAs in Chester and Midlothian Saturday.

The groups, including the parent teacher association's council and the county's office for family and community engagement, said the most important items are those that directly impact virtual learning.

"We asked the schools, 'What supplies are needed for our students?’” Chesterfield Superintendent of Schools Dr. Mervin Daugherty said. “So instead of guessing, we asked the experts, which are the teachers at our schools.”

“We also are asking for things that are necessary for virtual learning. like headphones with microphones, so students can communicate with their teachers,” Communities In Schools Chesterfield Executive Director Ashley Hall said.

If you would like to help, you can also donate via Chesterfield County Public School's Amazon wish list.
