Man robs Richmond store with handwritten note: ‘I don’t want to hurt you’

RICHMOND, Va. – Police are asking for the public’s help to identify a man wanted for robbing a Richmond store with a handwritten note.

Police say the robbery occurred during the early morning hours of Friday, April 24.

At approximately 1:45 a.m., an officer responded to a business in the 4800 block of Forest Hill Avenue for the report of a robbery.

Police say the suspect entered the store and acted like he was going to purchase two cigars. The suspect then gave the clerk a handwritten note, which read:

“All I want is the money, I don’t want to hurt you.”

Police say the suspect preceded behind the counter and stole cash from the register. He then walked out the front door in an unknown direction.

The suspect was last seen wearing a dark blue coat, white pants with black markings, dark shoes, and a black cloth around his face.
