RICHMOND, Va. -- Animal shelter workers in Richmond offered something special for folks stuck inside because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

"Just to make the world a better place for a few minutes! PUPPIES!!!" read a post on Richmond Animal Care and Control's (RACC) Facebook page.

However, officials had to keep their distance from the little ones.

"I have to stay back a little bit because these puppies have sarcoptic mange, but look how cute they are. Hello little littles. You are so cute," a shelter worker said. "I know that it's been a somewhat stressful time in the world, but I just thought this would make you happy to see these little littles."

The pups, who workers believe are German shepherds, are not available for adoption as of yet because of their condition.

"We're taking care of these sweet babies, but I will do more videos for everybody to keep you happy and working from your phones, from your couches while we are here taking care of the animals," a worker said. "You guys stay safe."
