COLONIAL HEIGHTS, Va. -- Neighbors living along Maple Avenue in Colonial Heights say that they heard multiple gunshots Sunday evening during a road-rage shooting involving a pizza delivery driver.
Around 6:30 resident Bria Shaw was surprised after hearing multiple gunshots in her quiet neighborhood.
A witness to the shooting, who asked not to be identified said that he saw a car chasing another car, and watched as the driver in the second car stopped in the street.
"He stops right there in the middle of the intersection and jumps out of the car with his assault rifle and starts firing rounds," the witness said.
The rifle bullets fired down Maple Avenue and hit the victim's car. Colonial Heights Police Detectives collected evidence and shell casings from the intersection on Sunday and were back again early Monday morning.
24 hours after the shooting, Bria Shaw described her anxiety.
"It was very jeering and alarming, very unexpected for a place like this or a street like this," Shaw said.
CBS 6 has learned the driver of the car being chased and shot at was a pizza delivery driver.
The shooting was partially caught on surveillance video, the driver of the car wearing a shirt with the word "Jeep" on the front and the number "7" on the back.
Police said he was driving a gray Ford Fusion.
