PETERSBURG, Va. -- Firefighters and paramedics with Southside Virginia Emergency Crew (SVEC) were treated to spaghetti and fresh bread for their dinner Saturday.

Roma Ristorante Italiano and Specter Properties made the donation for the first responders who they said risk their lives during the COVID-19 pandemic.

"We can't do it by ourselves, so we want to get others to help us do this and get together and feed the people that need it," Johnny Ingargiola with Roma Ristorante Italiano said. "You know, especially the ones risking their lives and going home to their families and capable of getting this virus."

SVEC crew members said they were thankful for the donation and appreciate the kindness of local businesses and restaurants looking out for them.
