RICHMOND, Va. – The Yoga in the Outfield event was held Saturday on the home turf of the Richmond Flying Squirrels.
The event, which was hosted by Project Yoga Richmond, stretched across the green of the Diamond in an effort to make yoga accessible and affordable for people of all abilities.
The non-profit works to give as many people as possible the opportunity to tap into the power of yoga while also creating stronger, healthier communities.
“When you roll out your mat for Project Yoga, you roll out your mat for someone else in the community. So you pay it forward to support classes,” Project Yoga Richmond Programs Manager Alexandra Cook said. "With our community programs we have yoga for seniors, yoga for youth, yoga for recovery, trauma-informed yoga. [There are] so many different options to try to bring the practice to as many people as we can.”
