RICHMOND, Va. -- Every year, CBS 6 makes it our mission to help find families for children in foster care. The pandemic has hit these children especially hard. Many feel more isolated than most and that's one reason why finding a forever home is more important than ever.

We want you to meet Grayson.

He was asked if he could have three wishes granted, what would they be?

"Having a family love me, hug me, and give me kisses all of the time," he replied.

The 13-year-old is sweet with a big personality and loves video games, dancing, and being outside.

He loves sports, but especially loves baseball, football, and basketball.

He says it's painful to see others that have a family, but he doesn't.

"If I don't get a new family, I'll be alone and I'll have to do it myself and I don't want that to happen," he said.

In Virginia, we have hundreds of children who are ready for foster to adoption. In other words, these children are ready to find their permanent and loving forever families. As Connecting Hearts – A Deborah J Johnston Charity, celebrates National Adoption Month, our “30 Kids in 30 Days” initiative is to bring awareness to 30 kids or sibling who are available for forever homes, but also to shed light on the other almost 700 children who may not be seen. Our kids are all ages and races, they were put in foster care due to no fault of their own. To learn more and becoming a foster to adoption parent(s)click here.
