RICHMOND, Va. -- Earlier this summer, Rob Cardwell introduced viewers to the Lit Limo, a library on wheels that makes stops in Richmond neighborhoods.

Every child who visits the Lit Limo get to keep the book they choose and can sign up for a Richmond Public Library card.
The goal is to help students get access to books.

To recognize their efforts, Cardwell surprised the organizers as part of CBS 6 Gives.

"Hi, Judy, it's good to see you again. Now you think that we're here, because we're doing an update on Lit Limo, which we kind of are. But the truth is, we're really here just to say thank you," said Cardwell.

"We do something called CBS 6 gives, we just want to say thank you to the people who do wonderful things for the community. And you guys did so much delivering books for kids all summer long, eliminating that summer slump, as they call it, and you continue to just do wonderful things for the community. To say thank you, we're here to give you and your crew $25 gift cards from Visa."

"This is amazing," said Richmond Public Schools Instructional Specialist Judy Deichman.

"We hope that you can use that Visa gift card and treat yourself to lunch or whatever you want to do. It's just our way to say thanks. Keep up the good work," Cardwell added.
