HENRICO COUNTY, Va. -- Kin Headley inspired many people. The J.R. Tucker and JMU grad married his college sweetheart and fellow Richmonder Courtney. Together, they had two children.

Kin was a realtor and very active in his school alumni groups and at church.

Anyone who knew him knew how much he loved to help others.

Thousands of people followed his story online as he fought the cancer that eventually claimed his life in November.

Julie Bragg recently surprised the Headley family as part of the CBS 6 Month of Giving.

In addition to gifts, Julie presented Kin's daughter LeAnna with a donation to her charity Our Amazing Fighters.

The organization not only raises money and awareness for families living through childhood cancer but also advocates lawmakers on behalf of those families.

She said her work with the children helped prepare her for when her father got sick.

"I knew what was coming because I knew children that had fought the same thing," 20-year-old LeAnna said. "It's also made me so much more passionate about the pediatric cancer cause because there are kids fighting the same disease that my dad fought and they deserve a chance to grow up and live beautiful lives just like my dad."
