RICHMOND, Va. -- CBS 6 meteorologist Frances Peyton surprised James River Park Systems workers with breakfast Monday morning as a way to show her appreciation for their hard work. It was part of the CBS 6 Gives segment in which CBS 6 team members spread some joy and kindness with the hope it inspires others to do the same.

"I run the trails or I'm on my bike cycling, and there's not a day that I don't pass by one of y'all doing manual labor," Frances told the crew. "It's every single day. So I think you guys deserve a good hearty breakfast. So you guys get your morning started, right, especially on a Monday morning."

Frances noted the increased usage the trails have seen amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

"I just want to say thank you, because I can't imagine how many people are on the trails, especially since COVID. The number probably has grown exponentially and to just keep them so well maintained," she said. "That does mean a lot to me and I'm sure other people that are taking advantage of what which one has to offer."

Crew members were appreciative of the gesture and the caffeine.e

"This is definitely something that we do not expect. But this is an amazing crew."
