RICHMOND, Va. – A Richmond Public Schools teacher who goes above and beyond for her students was recently rewarded for her dedication and hard work.
Ms. Giampietro is a special education teacher at John B. Cary Elementary School.
“I chose to teach students with disabilities because I feel like they are such special learners. I love creating curriculum for their individual needs and I love to see their progress each and every day,” she told CBS 6.
In the latest edition of CBS 6 Gives, Meteorologist Frances Peyton surprised Giampietro inside of her classroom.
“We do a thing called CBS 6 Gives. I know you put a lot into your classroom and I just want you to treat yourself… or anything that you still need in your classroom,” said Frances. “Here’s a gift card from CBS 6.”
“Thank you so much,” said Giampietro, before giving Frances a hug.
