RICHMOND, Va. -- While the number of HIV/AIDS infections appears to have leveled off, there has been a significant surge in the number of cases of gonorrhea, syphilis and chlamydia in Richmond, the state and the nation.
In some cases, the numbers represent record highs, a stunning turnaround from just a decade ago, when those STD rates were at record lows.
