Donald McEachin wins 4th District US House seat

RICHMOND, Va. — State Senator Donald McEachin (D) has defeated Henrico Sheriff Mike Wade (R) in the race for Virginia’s 4th District Congressional seat.

With 95 percent of precincts reporting, McEachin has 54 percent of the vote compared to 45 percent for Wade.

McEachin has served in the Virginia House of Delegates from 1996 to 2002 and 2006 to 2008. He is currently a State Senator for the 9th district, which is made up of Charles City County, parts of Henrico County, Hanover County and the city of Richmond.

Wade has been Henrico’s sheriff for 16 years. Before being elected, he served on Henrico’s police force for 22 years.

The 4th District consists of Charles City County, Chesapeake, Chesterfield County, Colonial Heights, Dinwiddie County, Emporia, Greensville County, Henrico County, Hopewell, Petersburg, Prince George County, Richmond, Southampton County, Suffolk, Surry County and Sussex County.
