Families of those killed in the terror attacks on 9/11 are now legally allowed to sue Saudi Arabia after both chambers of Congress voted for the first time to override a veto by President Barack Obama. Just hours earlier, the Senate approved the override on a 97-1 vote, with Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid as the lone Senator voting to sustain the President’s veto.

The final vote was 348 to 77, as one Democratic member voted present.
