HENRICO COUNTY, Va. — Drivers are advised to avoid the intersection of Gaskins Road and Ridgefield Parkway in Henrico’s West End during the Monday morning rush hour.

Police will direct traffic at the busy West End intersection after an equipment problem knocked out power to about 30 Dominion Virginia Power customers. The traffic light also lost power in the power outage.

“This is an extremely busy intersection under optimal conditions and drivers should expect delays in this area,” Henrico Police spokesman Lt. Salvatore Mulé said. “Officers will be on scene directing traffic and we have been given a timeline around noon before power may be restored.”

Sunday evening a fallen tree closed a section of Gaskins Road not far from the outage.
