RICHMOND: Last Summer, the U.S. Marines partnered with a fairly new grassroots basketball organization, Leaders of The Hardwood, to bring free basketball camps to four cities along the east coast to include NYC, Charlotte, Atlanta and Richmond. They were able to engage and empower close to 1000 teens with a message of leadership and community responsibility. With a successful pilot in place, they have expanded their efforts to 12 cities for 2016 and will be back in Richmond in March.
The program will help players develop mentally and athletically so that they have the ability to lead on and off the court. This free camp is geared towards high school basketball players looking to develop and refine their fundamental basketball skills. Players receive quality basketball instruction from former professional players and elite coaches during this 1-day camp.
The Camp Motto is "BUILDING CHARACTER THROUGH COMPETITION."
