BIRCH RUN, Michigan --  The holiday spirit is strong in Ms. Bullock's classroom at Brucker Head Start in Birch Run. And to help it stay that way she sings carols with her preschoolers each day before they go home. And she says no one is more in the spirit than Kadeem Green Jr. Bullock said Kadeem loves school and shines in the classroom. And when she heard about the Christmas gift his family wanted to deliver Monday, she was all in.

"Just the other day, he was like I want my dad," said Kadeem's aunt, Darlene Green-Blackman. "Today is going to be a very good surprise for him."

His father, Kadeem Green Sr. is a sergeant in the Army. He just returned home from a nine month tour in Jordan.

His son had no idea what was about to happen, and as you can imagine it was beautiful.

"Making my kid happy is what I live to do," Green said. "I haven't held him, touched him, since January, beginning of January. So here we are, 10 months later, and yeah, it's an awesome feeling."
