ALEXANDRIA, Va. — It’s been a long few weeks for fans of “The Walking Dead,” but finally they have an answer. Nearly a month ago, beloved character Glenn, played by Steven Yeun, appeared to die in October 26’s episode. Theories that Glenn somehow survived — egged on somewhat by a statement by the show’s executive producer — circulated almost immediately.
Those theories were proven true on Sunday night, as Glenn was shielded under Nicholas’ body as the walkers feasted on it. Glenn slipped underneath the nearby dumpster, fending off any walkers reaching underneath and waiting it out.
The incredible scene played out in the opening minutes of a plot-heavy episode, which ended with a tower falling, exposing Alexandria to a mass of walkers on the other side of the fence, leading into next week’s fall finale. In the meantime, though, many fans (including cast member Major Dodson) expressed their joy on social media.
By the looks of next week’s finale, though, Glenn’s reunion with wife Maggie — if it happens at all — could be short-lived.
