KOUNTZE, Texas -- Three Texas teens made their way through flood water to rescue a 93-year-old woman who was trapped in her home. Sallie Cole was stuck Saturday when water began to rise around her Texas home following heavy rain. When Cole's grandson could not save her, the teenagers sprang into action, according to KFDM.
"I ain't never seen anything like it honestly," Austin Rucks, 19, said. "It was over my waist and I'm 6'3"."
The teenagers waded through the water, locked arms, put Ms. Cole between their arms and carried her on out to safety.
"I guess it's just the way I was raised," one of the teens said.
"I'm the kind of person that if someone needs help I will pretty much go out of my way to help them," said another.
Cole offered the boys money for helping her, but the teenagers turned her down. Instead, they left her their phone numbers if she should ever need their help again.
