RICHMOND. Va. -- He was called the "Black Cyclone" - "a colored wonder."

Marshal "Major" Taylor is one of the most dominant athletes in history, setting world records, winning world titles, sweeping international competitions, all while being kept from some key events because of his race.

It was a bicyclist in the time before cars or motorcycles. When bicycle racing was huge, drawing vast crowds around the world. Richmond was a huge bicycling town, holding races that drew some of the top racers.

But Major, who was from Indiana, but had to go further north and east to keep racing.

But now, more than a century after his amazing run of wins, Major Taylor rides into Richmond for the UCI bicycle race.
